A Taste of the Himalayas - Story of O'ija

After working for more than a decade in the media and entertainment industry in India and overseas, Raahul, an MBA graduate, decided to leave the city chaos and come back to the mighty land of the Himalayas, where his heart always belonged. He started exploring & learning traditional & sustainable agriculture practices with the help of local & government agricultural organizations.

Using his skills & expertise in creatives & marketing, he has started O’IJA as an initiative to bring pure & natural products by combining innovative processing techniques with traditional farming practices being used by local farmers in his ancestral village called Sarna, Uttarakhand.

By working with local communities, he aims at skills upgradation, creating local jobs, reducing villagers’ migration from hills to cities, and building a channel between farmers and consumers."
